Installing prerequisites:
- Download and install ModKit 1.3
- When prompted to choose an installation path, preferably, keep it short
- Limit characters to latin letters, numbers, dots (’.’) and underscores (’_’) only!
- Do NOT use spaces (” “), as wcc_lite is a picky bastard and hates spaces for some reason
- Do NOT install to C:\ drive as it may mess with wcc_lite’s permissions
- (optional) run installation of a collection of legacy VC redistributables / can’t find an original Discord post that shared them
- (optiona) set ModKit to always get launched by Administrator
Download WolvenKit
- For Next-Gen - get 7.2 (download link); for Old-Gen (1.32) - get 7.0.3 (download link)
- Install WolvenKit to a short path, following same rules as for installing ModKit
- Run WolvenKit & follow instructions it gives you
- When prompted to select “Uncooked Depot Path”, keep it as is (ModKit/r4data) for now
- about 50GB of space are required for Modkit + Unbundled game
- When prompted to update your wcc_lite (ModKit’s main executable), agree to it
(optional) Unbundle Game Files
It’s the same process as creating Depot for RedKit.
Q: Do I really have to Undundle game files / create a Depot?
A: If you want to do any complex changes or mods from scratch with WolvenKit, YES.
If you just want to use WolvenKit as a tool for mixing & merging mods, or to do supplementary edits for your RedKit projects, not necessarily.
1.32 or Solo WolvenKit installation (with no RedKit):
